An unknown force erupts on a planet with a toxic green flame, the flame grows and starts to engulf everything and in doing so destroys any life it comes in contact with, an unknown man watches on as the life on his planet is destroyed, he walks towards this toxic intruder and along the way discovers a flower that has withstood the onslaught and has a unknown flaming aura surrounding it, the man introduces this resilient flower to the toxic source. the flowers flame engulfs the toxic green flame and explodes across the planet restoring life in its wake.
In the animation the toxic flame is the plague it its green as a bright vibrant green can represent a toxic object it is a lot more organic than anything else in the scene to show a juxtaposition and represent that this element doesn't belong , as the plague spreads it destroys life, the unknown man represents man kind and the constant pursuit for answers/solutions, the special flower represents nature and evolution and through being a flower it ties into the rhyme as being the savior and protector of life, life will always find a way around and through a problem, the fire surrounding the flower is the great fire that saves all life and cleanses the infected planet thus when the flame is introduced to the plague it explodes the plague has gone and life is restored to normal.
I have chosen to tell the story this way because it comes across as quite simple yet each element has a much deeper meaning than is initially obvious. this way it starts as quite a entertaining story but the more you watch and know about the story the more meaning you can pull from it. a main focus was also on being visually pleasing which is more important than ever with the level of animation and graphics now days.
my intention with the text was to have it be quite a prominent element in the animation, at no point did i want the text to blend in with the scene or to feel like it was placed with out consideration.in this way the text is bright white but placed behind elements in the scene with slight shadows on it to help help it feel like one but still remain prominent, the font had to complement this idea so i kept it very simple yet strong enough to stand alone i expanded the spacing between the letter to give it more of a movie trailer feel as well
music has been difficult to find one that fits and is cc, but after a lot very long search i found exactly what i was looking for
Never Heard a Rhyme Like This Before by Hebber Zepherin
i wanted the music to feel like an epic sci fi movie it needed to complement the animation without over powering it in anyway, but as my animation has quite a slow tempo it had to achieve this in an eloquent way, filling this criteria was very hard as 99% of what i could find would only fit 1 or 2 or these criteria, after finding the above song it was just a mater of lining up the action to the music.
