Animation styles/inspiration for my animation 

1. Sucker Punch - This animation interests me from 3:55 - 4:53 and 7:30 - 9:31.It has a high level of detail but a simple animation technique where the characters are moving very little and a lot of the movement are repeated, there are times when the camera seems to be moving through a still scene gives a lot of information about the scene in a simple but delicate way, Their seems to be quite a few particle effects going on and some areas seem to be emitting light, The duo tone colours helps create and set the mood of each scene, Without currently knowing much about after effect i think this is the style i would like to achieve

2. The Tail of The 3 Brothers - Relies on silhouettes to portray the characters, a style i like and feel would fit in with the general atmosphere of my story, as the detailing of the characters are a lot less the animation has to be a lot smoother, above all others the lighting has to be spot on as the shadows and transparency stop it looking flat and very 2D, without knowing whats fully possible in after effects i would like to try this style but have concerns with the transparency and lighting

3.Archer - This animation tries to be as realistic as possible, there is very Little lighting but the characters and backgrounds are quite detailed and the animation is smooth and as realistic as possible  seems a little over my head for this project

4.Aqua Teen Hunger Force -  this animation has very simple character design and simple animation. The use of texture in the back ground stops the animation looking boring and flat, There is no shading or lighting, walk cycles are all obscured and implied, Yet it all comes together and works for some reason, Possibly because of the character interaction, As most the animation happening in any 1 scene is in the faces of the characters.

5.Dumb Ways to Die - just found this so updated the post, its a very simple and very easy style of animation but has a funny story and catchy some, the character design is cute so when they are dieing in the different ways it is entertaining, i like this style but in sure it will fit my story.

Thoughts

I want to combine the styles of the the first 2 animation, I'm thinking dark almost silhouette style characters with detailed highlights to give depth to the character and help show details such as the little kid crying.

The lighting to help create the ambiance in a scene much like the 3 brothers video at 2:25 its dark and emotional shows a lot of background detail but very little of anything else, subtle particle effects over laying outdoor scenes should help portray a dirty atmosphere

i would like to animate it like the sucker punch video where the movements of certain elements are repeated almost like a moving still image with multiple layers
